Horwath Laundry Equipment is a third generation, family-owned distributor of commercial laundry equipment that has been in business for over 100 years. 

 

Our corporate headquarters is located in Omaha, Nebraska, with a second location in Rapid City, South Dakota.
We are a full-service distributor offering machinery, parts, service, laundry design and technical support.  We provide service to customers in Nebraska, Iowa, South Dakota, North Dakota and Wyoming.

Our business was founded in 1919 by Andrew Horwath.  Andy emigrated from Austria in 1910.  In a classic American success story, a side job constructing wooden extractor baskets in his basement grew into a thriving business.  In the 1940’s, his sons Joe and Rudy came into the business to help him design and manufacture laundry equipment.  Some of those old Horwath machines can still be found today in the laundry in the region.

In 1958, Andy and his sons became distributors for Pellerin Milnor and Chicago Dryer Company.  This continued to be a happy partnership for Rudy and Joe when they bought the business in the 1970’s and over the next two decades.

In 1997, Joe and Rudy sold the business to Rudy’s son Jim, the current owner and president of the company.
To provide better service to his customers in western Nebraska and western South Dakota, Jim purchased a second location in Rapid City, South Dakota, in the year 2000.  This office is run by Ron Kramer who has over 30 years experience in the commercial laundry industry. In 2012, Horwath was joined by Robb Vacek, beginning the fourth generation of our family business.

Horwath Laundry Equipment is proud of its many long-term relationships.  We are one of Milnor, Huebsch and Chicago’s oldest distributors.  We have exceptionally low employee turn-over.  Also, we have many customers that we have worked with for decades, and in many cases across generations.
